Zip a Folder




This guide will show you how to Zip a folder. This is fairly simple to do and has a few advantages over a normal folder.

  • Compresses all files in the folder to use less disk space.
  • Makes a group of files easier to send as the Zip folder can be sent over the internet, without having to upload individual files.

When creating a Zip folder, your origional files are not moved, instead they are simply copied so that the file can be moved elsewhere.

Step 1

Find the loaction which you want to create the Zip folder.

Right click anywhere in the white space within the window, hover over 'New' and select 'Compressed (zipped) Folder'.

Now you can give your Zip folder a name. Type in a name and press Enter.

All thats left to do now is to import all the files you want compressing. This is done by highlighting and dragging your files onto the folder.
