Run Programs as Administrator in Windows Vista & 7




This guide will show you how to run exe files with Administrator privileges. Some programs you download require administrator privileges before allowing the file to be installed. This is an easy task to get by and only takes a few clicks.

Step 1

Find the file you want to run which requires the privileges.

Right click on this file and select ‘Properties’.

When the ‘Properties’ window appears, select ‘Compatibility’ from the tabs on the top of the window.

Near the bottom of the window, a single check box labelled ‘Privilege’ Level will be un-ticked. Select the ‘Run as Administrator’ box and apply the changes.

Now double click the file once again and the program will run.
