Free Media Player (VLC)
This guide is going to show you how to install a completely free media player, which in my opinion is the best one available at the moment. VLC will play just about any file you throw at it. So if you are sick and tired of Windows media player always needing codecs, not playing audio or one of the other hundred thousand problems that can occur.. then I would suggest you try VLC!
| Step 1 |
Open up a bowser, go to Google and type 'vlc media player' into the search bar, click on the top result as seen below. To visit the site direct please visit: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

| Step 2 |
Once on the site you will see a link which says 'Download VLC'. Simply click this to begin the download.
|
| Step 3 |
Next click the top yellow bar, basically to allow Internet Explorer to download the file. (You may recieve a similar message in different browsers - just ok any message that pops up). The simply click 'Download File...'
|
| Step 4 |
When prompted click 'run' to begin the download.
|
| Step 5 |
After the file has downloaded, the installation will automatically begin, simply follow the on-screen instructions and keep clicking next.
